What is Generations?

Generations is a Fine Art Sale and Exhibition at The Haan Museum of Indiana Art featuring 12 of the premier painters and sculptors working in Indiana. Seasoned collectors will recognize our artists and sculptors including: Mason Archie, John Michael Carter, Tim Greatbatch, James Haire, Wyatt LeGrand, Pam Newell, Chris Newlund, Kate Orr, Donna Shortt, Jerry Smith, and Stephanie Paige Thomson. 35 pieces of art will be on display with the stunning backdrop of the historic mansion and Indiana art collections of The Haan.

When is Generations?

For registered guests luxuriate in the ambience of the Haan with hors d’oeuvres, wine, and music while mixing with the artists during the sale and exhibit opening April 29, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm EST.

How does the sale work?

The Luck of the Draw format means you can revel in the excitement of an auction without the risk you might spend more than you intended! Registered buyers will drop bid slips into boxes by each piece they’d like to buy. At 5PM up to three slips are drawn from each box and in the order of the draw the piece is offered to the buyers.Neither the Museum or the artists will engage in price negotiation during the sale or exhibition.

You can up your chances to win the piece by purchasing extra bid books with slips. After the main sale event on April 29, unsold artwork will be available for purchase in person to the general public during regular museum hours or online through June 3, 2023.

What payment forms are accepted?

Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash and check are accepted. Credit card transactions are assessed a 3% processing fee in addition to the purchase price. Indiana Sales Tax also applies. Purchased art must stay on site as part of the exhibit through June 3. Artwork will be held until personal checks clear. Buyers enjoy at 10% discount on shipping when using the Museum shipping partner, A-1 Packaging in West Lafayette.

How do I register to attend Generations?

Registration is online at thehaan.org/generations/register. Museum members receive a discount on registration.
