Antique Furniture Collection

Most of the furniture in the mansion was American-made during the Renaissance Revival period of 1860 to 1890, but both earlier and later pieces are present.

There are impressive pier mirrors, bedroom sets, credenzas, an 1875 sewing machine in an ornately inlaid cabinet, and a rare Superior Grade Wooten Desk.

Music Boxes

Two music boxes are featured. One is a 1900 American-made Orchestral Regina playing 27 inch diameter discs, and the other is a Swiss made B. A. Bremond orchestral music box with bells, a drum, castanets, little flute piccolo, and organ.

Clocks
There are eight large floor or wall-mounted clocks in the Museum. Some of the rare clocks on display include:

1893 8-foot hanging Tiffany clock with vials of mercury to compensate for temperature changes;
1910 10-foot gothic clock, hand-carved in Indianapolis from 4000-year-old wood;
1890 10-foot R.J. Horner clock with winged griffins and rat-tail maidens;
1866 Ithaca six-foot hanging perpetual calendar wall clock.

World's Fair Vases

Weller had the only operating pottery at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, where the Haan Mansion served as the Connecticut Building. Weller displayed five massive vases, the three largest of which are in the mansion. The 7 foot tall Aurelian vase on display in the Drawing Room won the Gold Medal for the Arts at the Fair.
